On Tuesday, Elder Parata went to the temple with a recent convert, so we took Elder Larsen with us to a lesson with Margarita. The only two times we have taught her have been with Elder Larsen in a trio with us, so he is pretty much good luck for us. We had a great lesson with her and put her on date for 4-20. She was busy this weekend visiting her kids who live pretty far away, so she wasn't able to make it. She seems a lot more willing to meet with us frequently though, which will help her progress faster.
We were in a trio on Friday and Saturday with Elder Larsen, so we had a good time teaching in both our area and the bike area. On Sunday, we ate with the Tenorio's who are famous for their food challenges with the missionaries. It is pretty much a Man vs. Food type of thing and this time it was 9 full scoops of ice cream with a ton of whip cream, cookies, and candy in there. I was just an honorary spectator, but I'll include a picture of the bowl of ice cream. After that, we set up a lot of appointments for the next week, so we are looking forward to a busy week.
This weekend will be fun with general conference. Hope everyone can watch it and learn something from the Spirit!
“Prayer is the act by which the will of the Father and the will of the child are brought into correspondence with each other. The object of prayer is not to change the will of God, but to secure for ourselves and for others blessings that God is already willing to grant, but that are made conditional on our asking for them. Blessings require some work or effort on our part before we can obtain them. Prayer is a form of work, and is an appointed means for obtaining the highest of all blessings" (Bible Dictionary).
